Its time that you throw away your joysticks and get this two-dimensional wrist glove that has been converted into 3D arm swinging. Basically the origin of this Power Glove was in early 80’s when a Japanese team designed a controller accessory that was the first interface controller with capability to recreate human hand movements on the computer screen or television. Nintendo followed the same concept and in 2006, it launched its first Wii Power Glove that allows the gamers to wirelessly control games with their hand movements. Just wear the Wii powered glove and by swinging the device you can actually play games that require hand movements like tennis, boxing and balling.
Power Glove has proved to be the best controller accessory for the Nintendo Entertainment. This is the first ever interface controller that can recreate the hand movements on the computer screen or television in real time. Though in the beginning users find it hard to make control over its features but a lot of practise would make you feel comfortable with it. Wii Power Glove contains NES controller buttons at the forearm along with a program button and number buttons from 0 to 9. Users have to press program button or the numbered button in order to input commands to make the Wii power glove ready to function. For example if you want to increase the firing rate of A and B button, you can insert command to do so. Other than this firing feature, player can even control a character on the screen with their hand movements.
Flex sensors present in the Wii power glove are carbon ink based on the plastic. Upon bending the flex sensors, carbon compresses thereby reducing resistance. Sensors of the DataGlove are made up of optical fibres that are placed near the bending joint so that it transmits less light when the user bent it. Wii Power Glove consist of two ultrasonic speakers/transmitters and three ultrasonic microphones that are placed around the TV monitor. These two ultrasonic speakers when takes turn transmits short pulse of 40 kHz sound and the system measures the time that sound takes to reach the microphones present around the monitor. In order to determine the X, Y, Z location of the two speakers, triangulation calculation is done. This much of calculation is required to know the yaw and roll of the hand.
Though it’s a high-tech powered glove used for gaming but if some modification is done, you can use it with system with slow hardware installed. Wii Power Glove uses sensors that are coated with conductive ink in order to get resolution of 4 positions per finger for all four fingers. This feature helps in storing all the information related to finger motion. There is a port located at the rear side of the glove that you can use to plug in the numchuck. Wii Power Glove has a battery compartment on the underside and the two buttons A and B are controlled by your thumb press and your middle finger all together. You can consider these instructions as a rule to access this Wii Power Glove. Designers are working hard so that they can come up with a new and different Wii Power Glove by adding more flexible materials and relocation Bluetooth chip.
Wii power glove is an amazing device for gamers and delivers high quality features.
