The refresh rate represents how many times the monitor is being illuminated in a second. The response time refers to the period of time needed for a display to go from the active to inactive and then back to active. This period of time is measured in milliseconds. The contrast ratio represents that type of ratio that is concerned with measuring the luminosity caused by the brightest color presented by the computer display in comparison to the darkest color.
