When discussing about this aspect, it is first of all important for users to understand what computer telephony integration actually refers to.
In this respect, it has to be said that it refers to a type of technology which allows certain interactions on a telephone as well as on a PC to be somehow coordinated. Another important aspect to be considered when discussing about computer hardware telephony operation and interaction is the fact that a typical type of such interaction usually controls the event type of flow being generated by a certain telephony switch during an entire life cycle of a certain call being made.
This supposes for certain stages to be taken in account. Such stages are the set up, the ringing stage also known as the delivering stage, the answering step, also familiar as the establishment stage, the moment when the conversation is ended or the clearing stage and the ending of such an interaction. These are not the only events which can be handled by such an interaction. Other types of events are the following: the hold event, the conference one, the transfer event and the forward event.

When discussing about computer hardware telephony operation it might also be useful to be mentioned for users the fact that nowadays there is available for us both analogy and digital telephony hardware components. One example of analog telephony hardware components is represented by SST X4, which presents an integration card. It is considered to enable an interface between a computer and a public switch telephone type of network. When discussing about its features, it is important to be mentioned the fact that it supports 4 analog types of telephony ports on one board which can be used for both incoming and outgoing types of calls.
Also important is the fact that this type of card can be customized according to different network specifications. Users might also be interested in finding out that one system can support multiple such boards. This card also supports a specific type of detection: the positive voice type and also the silence type of election. All of these features might be useful for users to be made aware of when they are interested in finding out more about computer hardware telephony operation and interaction. There are also many other aspects to be found out and analyzed as well for users to become able to better understand many types of data related to this type of operation.
