The importance of hardware and software components within a computer is vital for a proper functioning of the PC. Usually, any computer includes a case , a monitor and many other parts within the computer hardware system. Besides the monitor, very important components are considered to be the motherboard, the central processing unit, the chip set, the RAM, the Bios, which includes the boot firmware and the power management, the internal buses, the power supply, the video display controllers, the removable media devices, the sound cards and other peripheral components.

The motherboard is considered the main component within the computer hardware system. It is placed within the computer case. It is represented by a rectangular type of board and is very important because it has the role of connecting many of the computer components, by using specific internal circuitry. Among these components  are included the central processing unit, the RAM, the disk drives, such as the CD drive, the DVD drive and the hard drive, and not only. These are only examples of components that the motherboard connects through integrated circuitry but there are also other peripheral components that are connected among them and that are very important among the computer hardware system.

The central processing unit is very important within a computer as it performs most of the functions that enable a computer to really work. This is why it is considered by many people to be the brain of the computer hardware system. The chip set is also important as it configures the necessary connection and communication with the central processing unit and also with the main memory within the computer system. The random access memory (RAM) is vital for all of the applications that are functioning within a computer, as it represents the place where these running processes are being stored. The necessary tasks within the basic input output system are accomplished by the system drivers, which , in this way become also very important for the functioning of the computer hardware system.

The internal storage devices are also very important for the computer hardware system. This is because it deals with the necessary data being kept inside the computer. This important data can be used at any time because it remains in the memory storage of the computer even when the PC is turned off.

Among the most important memory storage devices are the hard drive, the so-called solid-state drive and the RAID controller. The hard drive is considered to be one of those devices that have medium-term power storage of information and data. The second device, called the solid-state drive is similar to the hard drive , but it differentiates by the way in which it stores the data, and that is within a digital format. Also important about this device is the fact that it does not contain any mobile parts. The last type of device used for internal storage among the computer hardware system, the RAID controller is important because it is considered to manage not only internal but also external drives and helps the way in which the computer functions by improving the so called functions of the RAID area.

Very important for the computer hardware system are also considered to be the pointing devices, which include the mouse, the innovative type of optical mouse and also the modern device called trackball. The mouse is very familiar among the users because everyone has or has had and used one of these types of devices. Depending on how it has been designed concerning its surface it usually detects two types of motion. The optical mouse is not as well known as the standard one as it represents a more innovative technology. The last one, the trackball, is important for detecting rotations of two axes types.

Very necessary for the users are the video input devices, which include, among others the image scanner that can be included among the computer hardware system components and the webcam.  The first device is important for the analysis of images, texts or even objects. The webcam is concerned with providing visual input that can afterwards be  transferred over the internet with specific connections being available.

The computer hardware system is very important for the well functioning of a PC. All of the circuits, the monitors, the cables, the power suppliers that are included in this system are very important and determine one way or another the way in which the computer operates. All of the accessories that are included and the features presented are important aids in our daily activities. It is very important to have as much knowledge as possible about both hardware and software components within our computer so as to become able to know when they are working properly or, when they present certain miss functions that might affect the way in which the computer operates as system. It is important to know which component is software and which one is hardware and the way in which we can improve the way they function, so as to be able to do all sorts of things with the help of our computer.
