Every computer includes hardware and software components. Both of these two types of components are very important for the way in which the computer functions as a system. The users are more familiar nowadays of the way in which they could overcome certain computer hardware problems than they used to be. This is because they can access all sorts of  information that can help them understand which steps to take so as to be able to work properly with their computers and overcome certain problems that might appear.

Nowadays, there are many ways of testing computer hardware problems: cable testers, software, routines, POST cards, error diagnostic types of methods and others. Hardware components are those parts of the computer that can be seen and touched within a PC. In comparison with the software the users change hardware components much more often. When discussing about the software diagnostics disk it is very important for the users to know that these testers are able to check the computer system and identify certain types of problems by running some kinds of tests on the system hardware. The nature of the problem can also be established by these types of testers. In general, the most well known software testers identify problems such as the computer' memory, the system processor, the hard disk, the monitor, the keyboard, the central processing unit and others. It is very important for the users to try and eliminate certain possibilities among the devices that might be causing the problems before evaluating the ones that are more likely to be the cause of that certain problem. When the software tester device identifies the problem, it is advisable for the user to replace that component rather than repair it.

The multimeter type of tester is a very important tool in troubleshooting computer hardware problems. This type of tester and other can be found both in analog and digital form. These types of devices are usually used to measure the values of the voltages within the system. They are also used to check the transistors, the capacitors, the diodes and others. A POST card is known to be a device that is usually plugged within the expansion types of cards and it analyses the way in which the system operates as it is being booted up. These types of testers are usually used by technicians when the system seems to be dead. In addition, this type of tester is also used in the case in which the computer is not able to read floppy disks or hard disks. There are two main types of errors reported by this type of tester, a non-fatal type of error, and a fatal one. In establishing the type of error displayed it is very important for the user to pay attention to the timing of the error message and also to the beep code. These two factors influence very much the type of error that the user should consider.

Another type of tester for computer hardware problems is considered to be the cable type of testers. These testers usually deal with problems such as bad cabling and RJ-45 type of connectors. In this respect, there have been created several types of devices for testing network communication cabling, important for the way in which the computer operates. There are different types of tests that the cable testers are supposed to be able to perform on computer cables. Among the most common types of problems encountered by users in this respect are the broken wires, crossed-over wires or improperly impairs cable connections.

Nowadays, it is very important for the users to have at least some basic information about their computer hardware components and the computer hardware problems that might occur within their computers. By being informed they will know how to overcome these problems when they occur and they will be able to continue working with their computers. Computer hardware problems are various and numerous. The hardware components that usually present problems are more advisable to be changed than repaired.
