In this article I am going to give you some information about the computer hardware. In my opinion it is essential to know what you have in your computer in order to be able to understand how it works. You will not be able to repair the components in case that they break but at least you will be able to take care of them and use them with ease. The PC has various components, and each of them is essential for the computer. The computer hardware represents the physical parts of the computer, which are the ones that you can touch. On the other hand the software of the computer represents the programs which are installed on the PC.

I will start with the motherboard, and this is the component on which almost all the other components from the computer. The motherboard is a large rectangular board which has various integrated circuits on it. Thanks to these circuits, the other components can be attached to the motherboard. One of the most important components which connect to the motherboard is the processor, or the central processing unit, CPU whatever you would like to call it.

The processor is responsible for performing most of the computations which are required in order for the computer to be able to function properly. Because of this aspect, many people refer to the processor as the brain of the computer. The chip set is the component which gives the processor the possibility of connecting to all the other components.

The memory of the computer is very important as well. The memory of the computer connects to the motherboard, just like the processor. It has a special socket on the main board on which the memory can be inserted. The RAM stores all the running processes and the operating system while the computer is turned on, but which loses all the data as soon as the computer is resented. There are many types of memory and I should tell you that the more memory a computer has the better it will work.

The hard drive is another useful component of the computer. It is somewhat similar to the RAM, meaning that it also stores the data, only a different kind. The hard drive is non-volatile which means that the information remains on it permanently until it is deleted by the user. Like I said, in the case of the RAM, the data will be deleted when the computer is shut down. The size of the hard drive dictates the amount of information the computer is able to accumulate. The hard drive contains all the information including the software programs. There are numerous types of hard drives, such as hard disks, solid state drives, each with their own pros and cons.
