Computer Hardware Lifecycle

Every computer consists of software and hardware components. Nowadays, a very important aspect regarding computers is considered to be the computer hardware life cycle. Some of the researches that have been made related to this aspect have considered five essential stages to be followed for these products' life- cycles. These stages have been considered to be the product development, its announcement, the product introduction, the maintenance and the retirement process.
The first stage in considering the computer hardware life cycle is a very important process that works with secret code names used for these products until their announcement, within the second stage of their life- cycle. This stage concerns with the companies' announcement of their products being introduced on the market. This announcement usually happens within special events that are organized even before these products are produced or at least not in their final shape. This stage permits further changes to be made within the products before they are being introduced in the third stage of the life- cycle. This stage comes when the companies offering these types of products have already presented them to their customers. The introduction of these hardware components is made within another special event, or even special parties given for it in the case of big names being involved in their production. Usually at the time of one product being introduced to the consumers another new one is already being in development within that company.

During the fourth stage of the computer hardware life cycle, called the maintenance one, it is supposed that the company offering that certain product is analyzing the market demands and even works on decreasing the product price, if necessary. And this is usually necessary so as for them to become able to sell that certain product. The last stage is certainly related to the product becoming unused by the consumers who are not pleased with the features and special included accessories anymore as, the market requirements change and in this way, there is always necessary to create newer models of the same product so as to attract the consumers into buying them. It is always needed, that after a while, any product might be replaced by an innovative and better one.

A very important aspect within the computer hardware life cycle is for each of us to become aware that sooner or later any type of computer hardware component might become not too useful or even unable to function anymore and its reparation would be just a delay, as the replacement will eventually become impossible to avoid. This is one of the reasons why a very important part of the IT department staffs' discussions have become those dealing with the managing part of the IT products and also those concerned with the computer hardware life cycle. These members' role is very important because they have in mind the important aspect of trying to avoid as much as possible failures that might appear in a product's way of functioning and they are also aware of the necessity of replacing a computer hardware component before it fails, and in this way to reduce the total amount of money being spent for the entire computer system costs during a lifetime.

Among the usual discussions heard among the IT specialists within a certain group there have become very familiar those related to hardware and software equipment planning. These discussions are directly related to the software and the computer hardware life cycle.
The idea of migration of the computer systems has also become an important issue among the discussions of the IT group members, related to the computer hardware life cycle. This is because it is considered very important for this idea of migration to evolve from the one presented in the manual processes of rebuilding products to a more evolved method that uses settings transfers of particular types of systems and , in addition, of specific data files. Most of the IT specialists agree with the idea that all of these processes require hard work, well-made plans and that all these steps require some time as to be properly set up. For the migration processes to be made possible it is vital for certain test labs to be made and supervised by specialists. These tests should necessarily include domain controllers, certain users who have to simulate an appropriate user environment and samples of certain file servers to be used. What is important related to this aspect is for those specialists to take in account the special documents and suggestions that have been discovered useful for the migration techniques to become possible and in the same time safe and useful. This is because a successful migration can only be achieved by means of good analysis being made before starting it and also a good planning is required. In addition, the tests are vital for the well-functioning of this process. These are essential aspects that need to be taken in account and followed by specialists before deciding to roll out changes.

Every computer contains specific software and hardware components. It is very important to know as much as possible about these types of components so as to become able to work with our computer as a system. The idea of the computer hardware life cycle has become familiar among users and this is a good thing as they can become more aware about what their own computer really means, of what it consists of and the way in which it works. Also, it is very important to know about both computer hardware and software life cycles, as to become able to know when and how it would be better for your computer to have its components replaced. Certainly, this also depends on each person's choices and also on whether that person affords to change certain components within its computer with new ones more or less often. This is because even if we were all aware of the new better computer components being available on the market this would not really give us the possible to afford to change each component very often. The idea is that it is important for us to be informed about this aspect and of the possibilities we have to improve our computer so as to know what to choose when we afford it and decide to make some changes within our PC.
