Nowadays, almost everyone in the world uses a computer because it has become an essential electronic device. This is very good because computers can be very helpful for us as long as we are aware of the necessary aspects related to them and their use. Computers can be used in many situations for all sorts of activities in which they can help us be more productive.



We use computers very much for some of our work activities and for school activities as well. Certainly, computers are also very often used for spending our spare time because we can watch movies, listen to music, talk to our friends and find useful information related to whatever we might be interested in with their help. If we really know how to properly use our computers we can discover just how helpful they can be for us. In order to become good computer users, we have to be willing to always improve our knowledge and skills in this respect. It is very easy for us these days to find all sorts of data related to all kinds of subjects that we might be interested in related to computers and the way in which they function.



In order to be able to use a computer as better as possible, it is very important for us to understand how these electronic devices function. In this respect, it is important for us to become aware of important data related to both computer hardware and software parts. This is because both hardware and software are very important and influence the way in which these devices function. Having a good knowledge of these two computer parts means being a good computer user and this can only be a good thing for us to accomplish.

Among the many ways in which important data about computers and their components is being made available for users nowadays, computer hardware lectures should also be taken in account. There are many types of information provided within these lectures which we might find very useful for us to become familiar with as sooner or later they will prove to be helpful for us while working with our computers or when we encounter certain problems while using them. A good knowledge of computers is useful in this respect as well, as it will help us be able to follow all sorts of troubleshooting steps that will help us solve the problems that we might encounter.



When discussing about a computer hardware lecture, it is important for users to be made aware of the fact that it can include all sorts of important aspects related to computers according to the specific type of subject being approached in that lecture. It might be a lecture on a certain computer hardware component and its functions, on the main hardware components and their influence on the computer system and its performance, on modern types of components, on all sorts of technological changes that have been made to hardware components in the last few years and many others.

One example of a computer hardware component that might be included within a computer hardware lecture is the random access memory. In what concerns this component, it might be useful for users to find out certain information about the way in which it can be implemented within the computer system and about how it is used by another important hardware component: the central processing unit.



One important aspect concerning the random access memory that users should become familiar with is related to its circuits. An example of RAM circuits is the static type which is usually used in all sorts of special applications. Buses are also important to be mentioned to users when making a computer hardware lecture including aspects about the random access memory. This is because buses are common data highways to many circuits within the system. There are included within the computer system address lines that connect to the memory and that are known as the address bus.

There are read types of data, data in and data out types. What is important to be mentioned at this stage is the fact that data in and out lines are never used at the same time. It is highly recommended for just one such type of lines to be used because in this way it can be reduced the complexity of the computer memory circuit. Anyway, when users to have a bi-directional data line they will have to feed it from more than one place and this might be actually difficult to be established in some cases.



When making a computer hardware lecture concerning important aspects related to the random access memory there also important to be mentioned terms such as the memory address register and the memory data type of register also known as the memory base type of register. MAR is used inside the computer system for storing the address in the memory which enables later data transfer. MDR is used to store data which will be later on transferred to the computer memory. Also important to be made familiar to users are the terms of program counter and instruction register.

The first one is used inside the system for storing the address of a program instruction that will be executed next. The later deals with storing the program type of instruction that is being executed at that time. Another important aspect that users might be interested in finding out from a computer hardware lecture is the Fetch Cycle. This cycle deals with getting the next program instruction from memory into the IR. After this operation, another one follows, in which two register transfers will occur in parallel. These register transfers having been mentioned are usually achieved in two different parts.



First of all, it is important for the multiplexers to be set in order for a required connection to be established. Second of all, it is important for the clock pulses to be connected to registers that change their state. These are only few of the many types of data which can be included within a computer hardware lecture, this one differs according to different types of subjects which might be included within them. Anyway, they are important to become familiar to users as they might find them very useful when they are interested in learning more about their computers.
